"Noisy, messy, fun!"
That's what pre-school children love and Scallywags Day Nursery is all about these. Bright, airy playrooms providing endless opportunities of learning through play with a good measure of messy play thrown in. "The children love being here" says Alison Bradley, "and messy play is a big part of every day. The messier the better! The children get opportunity to play with a variety of mediums in all manner of ways - the only downside is all the washing at the end of the day!.
Scallywags is privately owned by Alison & Ian Bradley and consists of two nurseries; Scallywags Girtonin Girton, Cambridge & Scallywags Westwick, Westwick, Oakington, Cambs. "Since 1994 we have gone from strength to strength," says Alison, "our excellent reputation known locally and beyond and our continuous aim of providing childcare with a difference has been a big factor in our success."
As a parent you will want to make sure that you have made the right choice for your child and with over 16 years of experience you can rest assured that your child is receiving the best possible childcare that there is. Scallywags Westwick has 4.5 acres of beautiful rural countryside to explore daily along with a handful of pets including two new additions; spring baby lambs. Scallywags Girton is based in the middle of the village of Girton and has good links with all that the village has to offer as well as a strong "home from home" family ethos running through its rooms. Open Monday - Friday all year (except the week between Christmas and New Year), from 07:30-18:00 with flexible sessions all help parents to make their childcare decisions for their child aged from 0 - 5 years.
Annually, each nursery warmly invites carers, parents and even grandparents to come along and meet them and see their great facilities and what they have to offer, at an Open Day. Refreshments including cream teas are served in the garden whilst the children can bounce happily on the bouncy castle or have their face painted. Inside happy participants are involved in the messy play activities- just a word of warning though, things can get very messy! But its Fun! Fun! Fun!
